random thoughts: signs of hope
Three weeks ago, the temperature outside was in single digits. Power and heat were out all over the state, people were suffering from hypothermia.
This week, this:
It’s sort of unbelievable, right? Things were dire, and suddenly there’s hope.
Over the last few weeks, people I know and love have been getting their COVID vaccines. My parents. My daughter. A dear friend who has recently beaten cancer, and another dear friend who is in the middle of her cancer treatment. Marcus will be getting his first vaccine tomorrow. I’m not eligible to get a vaccine quite yet, but I suspect my time will come soon enough. As it will for so many more people.
This past year has been so horrible. So much lost.
But suddenly there’s hope.
