planning some awesome (and a little housekeeping)
This morning I had breakfast with lovely Kim …
Wait.
I’m so sorry — it dawns on me that I forgot to mention on this site that the Chookooloonks team has expanded! Everyone, meet Kim. You might remember her when I did her engagement photos four years ago. We met when I was invited to photograph a youth trip to Costa Rica -- Kim was responsible for all of the kids, including acting as event planner, coordinator and mentor for the trip. Since then, she has become a rock star digital strategist and a badass event coordinator, specializing in leading meaningful travel for individuals and groups. She's also one of the cofounders (along with her love, Kevin) of Journey & Play, a website that's all about destination adventure. And the best part? She's now also working with ME! Kim will be helping coordinate my speaking opportunities, upcoming online courses, and as we grow, future Chookooloonks retreats (gasp!) and I can't tell you how lucky I feel to have her on my team. So please give her a big welcome, and if you have any questions (especially about booking me for an event, or technical questions about the site or upcoming courses), please don't hesitate to drop her a line at kim@chookooloonks.com.
So anyway, as I was saying: I met Kim for breakfast this morning, and we had a wonderful time planning all sorts of goodness coming for 2019: online courses, more video content, maybe even meet-ups. With the holidays coming up, I’ve seriously ramped-down my speaking gigs for the rest of the year (not to mention that we have a house to move into within the next few weeks), so my hope is that since my traveling has abated, I can focus on some great content to come. To that end, a couple of housekeeping items:
Be sure that you’ve signed up to receive the Chookooloonks newsletter. I promise I won’t spam you — I send out the newsletter approximately once a month (sometimes less), but for sure you want to receive the newsletter because you’re often the first to learn about upcoming events and courses; also, I offer special discounts for those who are on the email list. You can sign up by clicking the button that says “join the chookooloonks community” over on this page.
If you’re on Facebook, you might want to be sure you’re part of the Facebook community. That’s where a lot of conversation happens; also, when there are live videos and streaming, it happens over there. (Currently, folks are helping me choose photographs for my new home office — come help me out!). Simply “like” the page, and you’re in.
As always, thanks for being a part of our lovely, light-filled community, friends. I can’t wait to share all that Kim and I are cooking up.
Soundtrack: McCormack’s Wall by Glen Hansard. I asked Kim to pick a song for me today, and she’s been listening to this one. I love the imagery in the video: when Marcus and I were engaged, Marcus lived in Dublin, and this takes me back to those weekend visits.
An early blogging inspiration and colleague is gone.
