this was a good week
This was a good week! Here’s why:
• About 30 minutes after I publish this, I’m off of any kind of work until after Christmas. I haven’t had this many days off since before COVID, and I cannot wait. First up? Jigsaw puzzle. Don’t judge me.
• I’ve gotten a lot of very kind feedback from the CREATE.2021 ebook/journal prompts — thank you! You can get your free copy by filling out the form here.
• This Twitter thread from a Canadian physician on how the COVID vaccine works is so informative. Simple, and explains why there should be no fear of getting COVID from the vaccine.
• Related: here’s a guide of who can safely get the vaccine, for when you’re ready.
• Love these 7 photography composition techniques you can learn from the Netflix series, The Queen’s Gambit. As I return to an interest in photography again, this is going to be really helpful.
• How the Navajo nation is transforming math education. Love this.
• Finally, for today’s soundtrack: this rendition of Georgia On My Mind by Broadway stars. We’re fast approaching the run-off in Georgia, my friends: the election of Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock can literally mean the difference between the country moving forward, or more of the same that we’ve had for the last 4 years under the Trump administration, because without their election, the Senate will likely stymie any progress Biden and Harris want to make. So if you don’t live in Georgia and you can afford to do so, please donate to help the elections of Ossoff and Warnock. And if you do live in Georgia and are eligible to vote (especially if you turned 18 since November!!), please vote. The runoff election will be held on January 5. Any registered Georgia voter, regardless of whether they voted in November, can vote in this election. The pandemic is still shaping how Georgians will vote. Early in-person voting started on December 14, and Georgians can vote by mail. We’re counting on you.

Have a great weekend, friends. See you next week.
