social distance happy hour, redux (70/100)
Ever since March, on most weeknights Marcus and I meet our neighbours Han and Alec for a socially distance happy hour. We’ve updated our seating since March, each of us bringing our beverage of choice (everything from hot tea to … ahem … tequila) and spend an hour or so catching up on our days. We celebrate new jobs, kids’ academic successes — we even share news of family members the others have never met.
This has been one of the gifts of COVID. I hope that it’s a little tradition that continues, even after we all feel safe to go outside. (Although I admit I’m looking forward to a time when we can move our get-togethers to an actually restaurant and bar without worry.)
Feeling a lot of gratitude for good neigbours today.
