My favourite day during this time of year is Christmas Eve — I love the lights and the anticipation. It’s magical.

But my second favourite time is this week between Christmas and the new year. It’s calm and quiet. But it’s also a week of preparation. Of ensuring a clean slate.

As it happens, I’ve got a big year ahead of me in 2022, for reasons not the least of which is that I’m going to be working on another book*! I’ll tell you more about it in coming posts, but suffice to say that the subject of this book is the reason that I’ve chosen VIBRANT as my word of the year for 2022. I’ve been spending this week journaling and brainstorming how I can live this word in the coming year, and the more I spend time with it, the more excited I become. This, coupled with rearranging my office furniture and clearing out inspiration boards for new images, means that I’m having a whale of a time. Bring on the new year, I say.

And with that, it’s time for more leftovers, more reading, more Netflix bingeing, more journaling, and more preparation.

Hope all in your year-end is calm, all is bright.

* Speaking of books, The Lightmaker’s Manifesto is officially available in audiobook form! Recording the audiobook was one of the highlights of my 2021, and I'm thrilled that it’s available so quickly. So if you want to hear my astonishingly deep voice (or what it sounds like when I imitate my father's Trini accent), then g'on and get you some.
