the houston women's march 2018
Last year our family marched in the Women's March because we were afraid of what the country could become under Donald Trump. This weekend, we marched again, because now we know.
The turnout wasn't as large as the first year, although it was still impressive. Here are some of my favourites photographs (including some of my favourite signs) from the day.
The start of the march. Getting fired up! Ready to go!
I asked this young woman what her sign says. It was actually quite long, but in essence, it says, "we are with you, my sisters."
"Feminism never killed anybody. Machismo kills every day."
The end of the march, in front of Houston City Hall.
My mother is horrified that I bought this shirt, and didn't believe I would actually wear it in public, or put it on the internet. Sorry, Mom. I have no intention of making a habit of wearing it, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
