oh YIKES.
Last week, I was chest-deep writing this book about joyful aging — and oh, how it’s becoming something I didn’t expect — when I started thinking about the due date of my manuscript. I had been operating under one date but had a sneaking suspicion that I was being optimistic. So I sent an email to my editor.
“Hey,” I said, all easy-breezy-like, “I just wanted to check in with you and confirm the due date of this manuscript. It’s the end of November, right?”
She responded quickly. “Hey,” she said, equally breezily. “We’re on the same wavelength — I was about to email you about this. No. It’s the end of October.”
Huh.
October.
October, you say.
Coolcoolcool.
I just have to write about 100 more pages, move my only child across the country for university, work my full-time job ….
It’s head-down time, folks. All the productive, big writing juju that you send my way will be gratefully received.
What we’ve been up to, and some prompts for expansive imagination.
A little about the new book.
