Our whirlwind New York City trip was a success: our daughter Alex completed her Model United Nations training, while Marcus and I walked miles and miles, sightseeing all over the city. It was lovely being disconnected for a few days -- I didn't even take my Nikon with me. We just walked, and I took photos with my cell phone.

The real-life, no-foolin, honest-to-goodness Egyptian temple inside the Met. It was unreal to turn a corner and suddenly find yourself face to face with this.
The quilts from Gee's Bend, on exhibit now at the Met. Gorgeous, with a really interesting story.
