#naphopomo day 8: is the wait over?
When I was a kid, I remember that before I was sent off to bed on Christmas Eve, I'd go check the Christmas tree in the other room -- just to see if Santa had come before midnight and snuck some presents under the tree without detection. I'd do it over and over again -- you know, just to make sure, and see if I might have missed it.
Well, yesterday, I was acting like that all day long: we've been promised that the cold front moving into town would actually be the cold front that finally brought autumn to Houston (remember, we've been waiting). It was rainy all day, and indeed, the temperatures never made it as high 70 degrees, but at this point, I'm looking for chilly, man. I want something truly fall-like.
I'm told that this afternoon will really feel like fall. I'll believe it when I see it. In the meantime, I'll keep going out between breaks in the rain and checking.
