happy halloween! (100/100!)
Today marks 100 straight days of blogging — and honestly, I didn’t think I was going to be able to do it, even though years ago, that’s exactly what I did. It wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be, but that said, it was also a bit weird to do. Posting something just for the sake of posting something felt a bit … gratuitous? Is that the word? Something like that.
So I think for the next 100 days, I’m going to only post when I have something meaningful to say or share, and see how that feels.
In the meantime, in the spirit of Halloween, I figure it’s only right to share A List of Things That Terrify Me:
Snakes.
Spiders.
Looking over banisters that are more than one storey high.
Train tracks. Even if there isn’t an oncoming train on them.
Four more years of the current American administration in office.
Number 5 is the scariest of them all, and to that end, if you’re a registered voter in America and haven’t yet voted, please, please, please vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris this Tuesday, November 3rd. The current president is a cruel, dishonest, misogynist, racist megalomaniac, and he must be removed from office. Once we’ve done that, we remember that democracy doesn’t end after we leave the voting booth: we’re all called to hold them accountable once they take office, and we should all absolutely do that. Vigorously. But first, we need to make the current administration lose the election, and lose decisively, so that no matter what shenanigans they try to pull to convince people they actually won, nothing they do will hold water.
And with that, I’m going to take a few days off of blogging, and fully focus on my book, which needs to be turned in at the end of November. I’ll pop back in after Election Day.
In the meantime, stay hopeful, my friends.
