a'driane
While I was in Arizona, I had the opportunity to take a few portraits of some lovely folks -- women who I met through blogging, and who have since become dear friends.
One of them is the woman above: A'Driane, an activist, writer and artist, not to mention a combat veteran. I've been following her work for some time, and I got to meet her in person last October. She's warm and passionate and steadfast, with a strong sense of justice and a razor-sharp wit that doesn't stop. And since meeting her, I've been dying to take her portrait.
I hadn't taken any portraits in a while, so I'm so grateful she gave me the opportunity to photograph that phenomenal face during some down time at the conference. What a lovely, light-filled soul.
