a quick update

Hey, friends!

Well, it appears that my friends at Squarespace have been busy manually carrying fuel to their generators and fuel pumps up and down 17 flights of stairs for the past 48 hours, in order to keep all of the sites up and running -- now that's dedication, people.  The bad news:  labor unions in New York caught wind of their hard work, and decided that they needed to shut them down.  Which means there might only be about 2 more hours before Chookooloonks actually does go dark. 

But Lord, you can't say Squarespace didn't try.  Well done, guys.

So this is just a quick update to show you Alex's scary Halloween costume from last night, THE PEACOCK OF EVIL (okay, so maybe it's not all that scary).

She's come a long way from the Killer Bunny of Death, is what I'm saying.

Also, I wanted to announce that I've joined NaBloPoMo for November -- that's 30 days straight of blogging (assuming no technical issues, and if there are technical issues, I'll make it up when I'm back online, I promise).  I will admit to you that some days might just a picture or two, but regardless:  I'll be here. 

Good way to start bringing in the holiday season, I say.
