waiting for the snow
Image: Photographed in our entryway with my Nikon D300, 50mm lens and the mirror from the top of the dresser in our bedroom.
I took this shot yesterday morning waiting for the huge snowfall we're expecting in Houston (where "huge" = "1 to 3 inches of accumulation.") As of the typing of this post, Marcus has seen one snowflake.
One.
The newscasters remain dogged, however, so if Houston Snow-a-palooza 2011 ever actually shows up, I'll update this post with some photographs.
In the meantime, a winner must be picked! The winner of the signed copy of The Beauty of Different (as chosen by Random.org) is Makeda, who said, "Thanks for the generous opportunity to win your book. I would absolutely love to win!" Congratulations, Makeda! Check your email -- I've contacted you for your snail mail address.
And on that note, have a great weekend, everyone. Again, I'll update if things actually start to look seasonal around here.
UPDATE: The following image sums up the extent of the ice, snow and frost we got at our house:
Photographed with Nikon D300 and 60mm micro lens.
Yeah. Other than some chilly bamboo, not much else.
I do hear that the highway overpasses are frozen though, so if you're out and about driving today, my lovely Houston peeps, please stay safe.
