photography exhibit at galleria lazzara -- and i'm in it!
So I have a confession.
At the time that I drafted the nine things I wanted to do for '09, I had applied to be included in an all-photography art exhibit at a local gallery. When I said that I wanted to attend an opening for my photography, I typed those words with fingers crossed.
Soon after that post was published, I heard back from the gallery: I'm in. Along with 7 other photographers, I will be included in the February photography exhibit at Galleria Lazzara here in Houston. Ten of my photographs from my project entitled "The Ranch" (which only happened at the kind invitation of my friend, Katherine Center) will be featured.
I can't tell you how excited this news has made me. So for the past week or so, I've been getting large prints made (20"x20" - they look enormous), having them professionally mounted, and generally walking around in a cloud of disbelief that this is happening. I'm very, very pleased.
The exhibit will be from February 10 - March 8, and the artist reception (artist! reception! me!) is on Thursday, February 12, from 7 to 10 p.m. So if you're in Houston on that night, and are looking for something to do, please consider stopping by -- I'd love to meet you!
