#40daysoflight: this was a good week (the birthday edition)

This was a great week!  Here's why:

•  Thanks so much for all of your lovely birthday wishes for Alex!  I passed them along to her, and she was so moved (she kept asking, "Are there any more new cities, Mom?"  You've helped her make her twelfth birthday great.  (Tonight is the Great Birthday Slumber Party, so celebrations continue!)

•  (By the way, here's the recipe for the cake above.  It's my throw-down-impress-everybody cake.)

•  My photographer-friend Morgana shared some images from a fashion shoot she did in Liberia -- the colours! The light!  Her images are so beautifully lush.

•  This photographer captures day and night in the same image.  So cool.

•  Astronaut Scott Kelly's beautiful photographs from out of this world.  Gorgeous.

•  Pretending you're creative makes you creative.  Love this.
